White Sage & Palo Santo smudge
Sage is one of the most used plants in the occult, and considered highly sacred. Sage has been used for ages to cleanse, purify and protection. Sage smudging is a practice used to balance negative energies, low vibrations and spirits from spaces.
Palo Santo, which translates to “holy wood” in Spanish, is a tree that is widely found throughout Central and South America. Palo Santo is used in South America the same way as White Ceremonial Sage is used in North America; to remove negative energy and to cleanse the space. Palo Santo is often used by Amazonian shamans in sacred plant spirit ceremonies; the rising smoke of the lit sticks is believed to enter the energy field of ritual participants to clear misfortune, negative thoughts and to chase away evil spirits. Its use dates back to the Inca era.
*Always utilize proper ventilation when smudging, open windows and doors to carry the smoke from the space along with the negativity collected by the smoke. Pray or speak intentions while smudging around the home or space.
